District 2 is proud to announce the 2nd annual Park Forum! This one day mini-conference is for park and maintenance professionals, administration, park planners and  anyone interested to learn more about park development and operations. This year the Park Forum is returning to the City of Roseville and will be held at Maidu Community Center located 1550 Maidu Drive in Roseville, CA. The event features a keynote presentation from Jim Wheeler, General Manager of Hayward Area Recreation & Park District followed by three educational periods with plenty of sessions for you to choose from. Keynote Session presented by James Wheeler

Jim Wheeler has been hanging around the recreation and park department for over 45 years. He has worked in cities small and large from operating a pool and recreation center in Nevada City population 2,700 to managing 28 parks, 9 pools, rec centers and a camp in the mountains for The City and County of San Francisco. He is currently the General Manager for the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District, serving over 300,000 community members across 120 parks and facilities. Jim has been a long-time volunteer for NRPA as a Branch President, CPRS as a President of two sections, then as State President. He has been honored with two CPRS Presidential awards, NRPA Distinguished Service Award, the International Swimming Hall of Fame Paragon Safety Award, blah, blah, blah. He coaches youth sailing, is a varsity swim coach at St Joe’s in Alameda and a 44 year volunteer for the American Red Cross.
